Inverted nipples is a condition where a woman’s nipples are pulled inwards by an inbalance between the muscles and the milk ducts inside the breast. There are different degrees of severity and the first step Mr Philip Turton will take during the consultation will be to ascertain the degree of inversion. This will indicate which treatment is most appropriate.

There are non-surgical treatments for inverted nipples but if they fail to work or the degree of inversion is so severe that the nipples will never respond to these treatments, then there is a simple surgical procedure, performed under local anaesthetic.

It is thought that approximately 10% of women in the UK suffer from inverted nipples, yet the surgical procedure to correct this condition is very straightforward and highly successful. Mr Philip Turton performs many procedures of this type.
