Male Breast Reduction: Gynaecomastia Before & After M1

Before: Pre operative picture of gynaecomastia on right side causing unwanted swelling of right pectoral and nipple area. This was removed by Mr Turton through a small cosmetic incision hidden in areola.

After: Post-operative result just 2-weeks later. No visible scar.

Male Breast Reduction: Gynaecomastia Before & After M4

Before: Male excess breast tissue growth causing prominence of the nipple areola complex and pain. A small breast is clearly visible on both sides. This tissue typically feels thick beneath the nipple.

In the profile view the embarrasing cosmetic disfigurement of male gynaecomastia is most obvious. The nipple is pushed forwards by the underlying tissue.

After: At 3-weeks after male breast reduction surgery by Mr Turton, through a very fine peri-areola incision, the profile has returned to normal. There is some post-operative swelling still present which takes a further 3-weeks to resolve, but this is not apparent from the photograph.

Male Breast Reduction: Gynaecomastia Before & After M5

Before: Simon Grade 3 Gynaecomastia with excess skin and solid breast tissue growth causing severe prominence of the nipple areola complex and redundancy. A large disfiguring breast is clearly visible on both sides. This tissue typically feels thick across a broad area beneath the nipple.

After: At 3-months after major male breast reduction gynaecomastia surgery by Mr Turton. This technique required a broad excision of the underlying male breast tissue, an excision of the excess skin and a transposition of the nipple on a supero-medial pedicle. The profile has returned to normal. The scar maturation will take 18-months and although it will always be visible it fades to a white line in most patients. The risk is for a hypertrophic scar to form which is disfiguring.
