My philosophy on breast surgery is simple: to provide the best cosmetic breast surgery care for my patients using the best and safest techniques.
The goal of cosmetic surgery is to achieve and enhance the natural look. Most patients come to my clinic with a good idea of what they want to look like after surgery. My goal is to get them their best results. See my sections on Augmentation – Reduction – Uplift for further information
With my many years of specialised surgical training and breast experience, I will first listen and evaluate the patient to gauge her views, desires and expectations. I spend a lot of time educating about cosmetic breast surgery to ensure the goals are realistic and the results are as close to the original expectation as possible. My use of 3D imaging helps here, and with my expertise, I am an excellent judge of what works and what doesn’t.
The operation is always performed with my patient’s safety as paramount. The Leeds Nuffield hospital has the highest standards of professional and technical care with the latest equipment. It is in fact signed off by the Care Quality Commission with a rating of ‘Outstanding’, one of only 6 private hospitals in the UK achieving this.
Your consultant anaesthetist is equally important, and is a core member of my team, fully accredited, annually appraised and an established consultant at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. After surgery, all patients are followed up closely with visits and phone calls until well healed and happily satisfied. Long-term follow-up is suggested and can be arranged at a competitive rate.
My breast augmentation patients and specialist cosmetic breast surgery patients range from age 19 to 75 years of age with safe and very satisfying experiences. My patient feedback is important to me and you can read more about their experiences. Realistic goals are important. Whilst I strive to achieve perfection it is important to understand that the goal of a cosmetic breast operation should be an improvement, not perfection. I hope to provide you with a similar, but individualised experience.
I have performed thousands of breast operations in my career, and as a dedicated specialist my sole focus is on breast surgery. I perform all aspects of cosmetic breast surgery, but also all aspects of breast cancer surgery too, and this includes breast reconstructions. It is this combination of expertise acquired and fortified over many years as a specialist, combined with my desire to help people, and my track record of consistently excellent results, that has built my reputation in the UK.
My Team is equally important. This includes my theatre team and scrub staff, my outpatient nursing team, and our dedicated breast care nurses, Gerry Charles, Jill Maffey and Diane Fitzpatrick. But it also extends to the entire breast multidisciplinary team which links to the Leeds Breast Unit at St James’s Hospital. This comprises breast imaging experts, breast pathology specialists, breast oncology consultants and a breast research team. Finally and of equal importance is Victoria Short, my dedicated secretary who has worked in the private sector for over 20-years. Victoria is pivotal to organising consultations, advising on costs, considering dates for surgery and liaising with the whole team.
